Lyric Pick

"Congartulations" -Blue October

Lyrics:

Is that seat taken
Congratulations
Would you like to take a walk with me

My mind it kind of goes fast
I try to slow it down for you
I think I'd love to take a drive
I want to give you something
I've been wanting to give to you for years
My heart

My heart, my pain won't cover up
You left me.. hu hu hu hu
My heart won't take this cover up
You left me.. hu hu hu hu

I came to see the light in my best friend
You seemed as happy as you'd ever been
My chance of being open was broken
And now you're Mrs. him.

My words they don't come out right
But I'll try to say I'm happy for you
I think I'm going to take that drive
I want to give you something
I've been wanting to give to you for years
My heart

My heart, my pain won't cover up
You left me.. hu hu hu hu
My heart
My heart won't take this cover up
You left me.. hu hu hu hu

And I can't change this
I can never take it back
But now I can't change your mind
(You left me)
And I can't change this
I can never take this back
But now I can't change your mind
can't change your mind
(You left me)
Can't change you mind
(You left me)
(You left me)
(You left me)
(You left me)

Go away
Make it go away
Please.

General idea/story inference:

I think this song is about a guy who still hasn't gotten over a past love.  It sounds like she is getting married or moving on and he comes and is still heart broken.  He wants to tell her that he still loves her.  He wants the pain of the heartbreak to go away, but it wont.

Quote Inferences:

1. "My mind it kind of goes fast/I try to slow it down for you"-- I think that when he says that he saying that he's kinda nervous and that his mind is racing.  When I'm nervous my mind goes crazy and things keep racing through my mind and I think thats what he's feeling.

2."I want to give you something/been wanting to give to you for years/My heart"--I think that he has liked this person for a long time (years).  He has never had the courage to tell her untill now.  He wants to give her his heart.

3."My heart, my pain won't cover up/You left me.. hu hu hu hu"--From this I can guess that they might have been a couple before but she left him and the pain still hasn't gone away.

4."My chance of being open was broken/And now you're Mrs. him."--He had a chance to tell her how he felt but he missed it. And now she's married and he cant do anything to change it cause he missed his one chance.

5."Go away/Make it go away/Please."--He wants the pain of the heartbreak to go away but it wont.

My Name!!

To me my name is everything i am.  I, at times, can be a very proud person.  I am very proud of my name. In hawaiian my name means protector or guardian.  It means a lot to me and being the oldest in my family my name suits me as I protect my siblings.  I'm hawaiian and japanese and in both cultures we are very proud.  What we are seen as and what people think of us is very important to us.  So I'm the kind of person that doesn't like it when insulted and is willing to fight when myself and my name is insulted or blackened.  People see me as a lot of different things and others have their different opinions when they hear my name.  Some of my friends see me as a goof and someone to have a good laugh with and others see me as someone to go to when having a hard time and need some help.  How other people see me is very important to me and I get sad when someone who doesn't even know me that well doesn't like me.  I feel that most people judge to much on outward appearances and what they see for the first time.  The majority doesn't take them time to really get to know someone and how they really are. I laugh about it but a lot of people either see me as annoying or really quiet, depending on who I'm with.  Without getting to know me people will make that assumption.  When they get to know me most people like me and say I'm really fun.  Some have told me stuff like, "I never thought you were like this when I first met you." and comments like that.  I try to do things that'll give me a good name but sometimes people just make assumptions from little mistakes I've made. The same applies to others out in the world.  So try to make a good name for yourself.

the crucible characters

Abigail "Abby" Williams: Miley Cyrus

Ichose Miley Cyrus to play the part of Abigail Williams because she is young and what is to be considered "attractive", and I think her to be both. She has also played lead roles in several movies and stars in her own tv show on disney channel, so I believe she has enough experience to be able to portray the character of Abagail.

Goody Rebecca Nurse: Betty White

I chose betty white to play the role of Rebecca Nurse because she is an elderly woman who appears to be able to give off the old saint like Rebecca Nurse in the movie/play. She has a lot of acting experience so I have no doubt that she'll be able to play the role. She has a kind happy look to her that makes you think of your kind loving grandma and I believe that is good for this role.

Tituba: Naomie Harris
I chose Naomie Harris to play the role as Tituba because of the role she played in Pirates of The Caribbean. I think from the role of "Calypso" she is able to be that lowly slave from another land. She also has that accent down and is able to change her appearance to look like a slave girl.

Goody Elizabeth Proctor: Cameron Diaz

I chose Cameron Diaz as Elizabeth Proctor because she has experience, and to some people is a pretty good actress. We dont know much about Elizabeth Proctor so right now our main goal is to just get a female to do the job.

Reverend Samuel Parris: Jack Nicholson
I chose Jack Nicholson as Reverend Samuel Parris because he has an older look to him and he also looks like he has power. Jack also has a lot of experience and has been the lead role in several movies. I think that he'll be able to play the Reverend who thinks he is better than everyone else and is only concerened about his job.

Thomas Putnam: Jason Isaccs

I chose Jason Isaccs because he has that rich and powerful look in several of the movies that he is in. In this picture of him from the movie Harry Potter he looks rich and intimidating. Thomas Putnam is a wealthy man that Jason can easily portray. Also he is greedy and wants land and Jason can act out the greedy part as he has played the bad guy in his movies.

Mary Warren: Hilary Duff
I chose Hilary Duff as Mary Warren because she can play as the young 18 year old maid girl.  She has a young look and has had roles where she is more on the bottom of the food chain and is the working class. She also plays important roles in other movies where she is upper class so that'll help when she is part of the courtroom and helping with the witch trials.

John Proctor: Mel Gibson

I chose Mel Gibson as John Proctor because he looks like a hardened hard worker. In one of the movies I remember him the most from is The Patriot. He is a lowly farmer and works hard, things that we see Jon Proctor as. He has experience and is right for the job.

Goody Ann Putnam: Alicia Borrachero
I chose Alicia Borrachero as Goody Ann Putnam because of the role she plays in Narnia: Prince Caspian. She plays as the wife to a power hungry king. She has one child and wants to give him the best life possible and is kinda greedy and will betray. Ann Putnam is like this, she will betray and lie and do anything for her children. She even asked Tituba to conjure the spirits of her dead children. I think that she will be able to play this part well.

Reverend John Hale: Tim Curry

I chose Tim Curry as Reverend John Hale because he looks like he could play the part. He has planty of experience from over the years and I think he can easily pull it off. He is a good actor and will be able to pose as John Hale.

Essay Thing

Crocodiles river dancing in Egypt. Sorry that has nothing to do with this essay i just needed to get your attention.  Going against the crowd is not an easy thing to do because when you go against the crowd you're going against the majority, civil rights movements, and when you walk in a river going upstream the water is going against you.
Going against the crowd. Now in that sentence, "the crowd", is meaning the majority. So if going against "the crowd" it means going against the majority. The majority is the biggest amount, whereas the minority is the smaller amount. When going against the crowd the minority (smaller amount) is going up against the majority (larger amount). This is like a small dog trying to fight of a huge T-rex. It's very difficult and hard to do. When having the majority of people disagreeing and fighting against anyone its gonna be a hard thing to do. For one you're out numbered but there's all sorts of pure pressure that comes from this and criticism. It's not easy.
Just the other day i was up in the canyon taking pictures with my gamily. While up there i tried to walk in the River. When walking up stream there is tons of force of running water that makes it hard to walk. Along with this rushing water there are slick rocks that make it near impossible to get a good foot hold. With this combination of powerful waters and slick rocks its very hard to walk upstream.  This is just like going against the crowd.  There are forces that will prevent someone from doing something and they'll create opposition that will slow and/or push them down.
During the civil rights movement there was a lot of opposition. The minority was fighting the majority. Blacks fought for their rights and it wasn't easy. They were arrested, beat, and even killed. One of the greatest examples of going against the crowd during this time was Martin Luther King Jr. He fought against the crowd in a peaceful way and it was hard and filled a lot of tribulation that ended in his death. It wasn't an easy thing for him to do and it takes great and strong people to be able to stand for what they believe in and do what is not normally done.
All in all its not an easy thing to go against the crowd. Going against opposition and the majority make it hard and most people don't want to deal with it because it's too difficult. The civil rights gave examples of going against the crowd, walking upstream of a river simulates going against the crowd in a different way, and its hard having the majority against you.
